This past summer of 2020 was truly challenging and innovative. It was vastly different to our limited programs’ participants. We successfully dealt with a global pandemic which led to a social distancing soccer program. It was necessary to adopt a formula with major modifications in which we developed a safety plan that was approved the City of Buffalo’s Parks & Recreation Department and a team of lawyers. Once this was approved and put in place, we were to provide desperately needed recreational soccer activities to a limited group of children. All COVID -19 precautions such as mask, temperature checks and sanitizing were done numerous times daily. At the end of the three-week camp, WHJESP can proudly say “we had zero positive occurrences and tons of fun!” Thanks again to all the parents that trusted us with their children!
