Over nine individual sports clinics are offered with instruction in the fundamental skill development for each sport. The program is open to all male & female residents in the metropolitan Buffalo & Lackawanna area between the ages of 6-16. These programs are offered at no cost; due to new COVID-19 guidelines all participants MUST pre-register here online and enrollment will be limited to a first-come basis. No walk-ups will be accepted. These programs operate during the months of July through August.
Diversity Dance in the Park:
Amor and Heritage, a traditional Hispanic dance company, provides dance instruction using traditional music from Columbia, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Peru, Brazil, and Mexico to educate the students on the dance styles from these countries.

Chess:
Our chess program will teach the children the history of the game, rules, and movements along with the values of each piece. Students will learn how to play team chess and be presented with various chess situational problems to test their knowledge and skill development. They will be taught how to play by all the rules of local and national tournaments with the usage of clocks and score sheets.

Tennis:
Equipment maintenance, vocabulary, fundamental skills & drill, how to score and job opportunities that are related to the field will be covered.
Session 1 August 1- 5 from 1:30 pm until 3 pm at Delaware Park McMillian Courts
Session 2 August 8 – 12 from 1:30 pm until 3 pm at Delaware Park McMillian Courts
Basketball:
Students will learn effective skills (e.g. passing/receiving, lay-up and outside shooting, dribbling, rebounding, guarding, etc.) along with regulations, rules, and drills that can be utilized for personal development. There will be two sessions starting from 12:00 pm to 1:15 pm and 1:15 pm to 2:30 pm. Clinics will be held on July 9, 16, 23, 30, and August 6, 13 at Buffalo State College.
Baseball:
It’s Baseball season, so why not let your child learn the game with us, TEAMHUTCH!! We will be teaching the FUNDAMENTALS of the great game of baseball. From throwing, catching, and fielding, to hitting and base running, all basic aspects of the game will cover. Did we mention FUN?? There will be games and competitions to keep things interesting and enjoyable. Also, your child will learn the importance of teamwork, camaraderie, and respect. PLAY BALL!!

Students will be taught basic skills, strategies, rules and conventions, and participate safely with appropriate personal, social behavior, and job opportunities that are related to the field of soccer. Campers will compete in a competitive afternoon summer league in which awards will be given out to playoff teams!

Volleyball:
Campers will learn the skills (e.g. legal overhand serve, forearm pass, set, spike, etc.) with few, if any, observable errors in technique, along with the rules & regulations of gameplay. Campers will also get to display their skills in summer league games!

Swimming:
These 4 week sessions will promote water safety and the practices that go along with it. Students will learn how to keep a safe environment in and around the pool areas. The students will learn how to use the lifesaving equipment that is found on the deck around the pool. They will learn how to develop the sidestroke, backstroke, and freestyle strokes. They also will become comfortable in and around water.

Crew/Rowing:
Rowing is a rewarding sport with a unique balance of techniques, fitness, and character. Classes at the West Side Rowing Club are for the complete beginner to learn the basics to enjoy a new sport on the waterways. Learn-To-Row coaches are hand-selected from rowers within the West Side Rowing Club members who have shown expertise in both knowledge of the rowing stroke and the ability to teach it. They take pride in teaching participants to be well-rounded with knowledge in both sculling and sweep rowing.
