On June 14th at Walden Park, the Willie Hutch Jones Educational & Sports Program
partnered with the Buffalo Bisons to host another exciting Play Ball Weekend — a day
dedicated to introducing and growing the love of baseball and softball among youth in
our community.

Children ages 5–16 joined us for a fun-filled day of learning the fundamentals of the
game, from throwing and catching to hitting and base running. With guidance from
experienced instructors and volunteers, participants had the chance to sharpen their
skills while building confidence and teamwork.

It was a beautiful day outdoors, perfect for play! After an active morning on the field,
everyone enjoyed a complimentary lunch and the chance to compete in a spirited Home
Run Derby Challenge.

The smiles, laughter, and sportsmanship throughout the day truly embodied what Play
Ball Weekend is all about — encouraging kids to stay active, learn, and have fun
through the game of baseball.
