On May 14th, at approximately 2:30 p.m. A villainous white supremacist filled with hate and deadly intentions infiltrated our community. Our lives will forever be changed. We extend our condolences and prayers to the victims’ families and those impacted by this tragic event. There are no words to help process what happened, but together as we grieve, we will work diligently to be a support and resource to our neighbors.
The Willie Hutch Jones Educational & Sports Program stands against racism and hatred in all its varied forms. Each day, we aim to help instill strength, encouragement, and self-esteem in the children we serve through sports and academics so they recognize their self-worth, even when the world may show them otherwise. Our program doors will continue to stay open for the kids as an emotional haven through sports activities as a means to expel the anxiousness and energy that surrounds them. It can help.
To the fallen: Roberta A. Drury, Margus D. Morrison, Andre Mackneil, Aaron Salter, Geraldine Talley, Celestine Chaney, Heyward Patterson, Katherine Massey, Pearl Young, and Ruth Whitfield, you will forever be in our hearts. To the injured: Zaire Goodman, Jennifer Warrington, and Christopher Braden, we pray for your strength to heal and move forward.
In Power and Love,
Willie Hutch Jones, Ph.D., President and TEAMHUTCH
I was wondering if there will be any openings for basketball for my 9 year old, that is sold out. I was a participant of Willie hutch many many years ago and would like my son to share the same positive experience. Thank you for your time
May they Rest In Peace & wrapped in Gods arms.
